A few weeks ago (I know, i'm so behind!) the kids wanted swords, so Ben whipped some up really quick! They love them and fortunately are nice to each other--no one has gotten hurt, yet!

And while they were busy sword fighting, Mason was playing on the hammock!
I can't wait to upload some video of him when the charger for my camera comes in the mail!

Monday Madness

Mama Buzz

I thought it would be fun to participate in this new Meme over at Mama Buzz (I was recently selected to be a reviewer for this site, so you'll see some fun things soon from that!). Maybe this will help me to stick to my goals!

The highlight of my weekend was: Time with friends on Friday night!

The goals for the week are: Get our fall/winter clothes out of the attic and make a list of what the kids still need, finish organizing my room, and take down the baby cradle :(

My marriage goal for the week is: Have Ben's work shirt ironed for him every morning :)

A parenting goal for the week is: Getting Mason back on some type of good bedtime routine, and read at least 2 books with the kids each day.

A personal goal I hope to achieve this week is: Go to the gym twice. We just joined and I really need to figure out how to get there during the day, so twice shouldn't be hard.

The thing I'm most looking forward to this week is: finishing a book I started last week!

Mason Tries to Escape!

The big kids were outside playing the other day and I had the porch door open. I left the room to put some laundry in, and when I came back Mason was heading out the door!

We don't have a whole lot going on around our house this week...we're still trying to get into a good "groove" with school, and I think Mason is teething again. At least I hope that is what it is. He is really clingy, fussy, and just not a happy guy. He is waking up a good bit at night so he ends up in our bed (so that I can sleep), and then we have been having early mornings. So we're just ready for some down-time!
I'll leave you with this cute picture of Natalie, from last week when we were heading to Bible Study! There is a class for homeschooled kids and they have to take work along.

This is definitely too far

So I won't jump on my big soapbox right now about modesty and decency when it comes to the clothes (or lack of) that kids wear these days.
But I WILL say something about this, and I ask you to please do the same. It makes me sick to think that my kids might be exposed to a shirt like this out in public.
Take the time to email A&F....it does make a difference.

Hmmmmm...

We were zipping through a drive thru yesterday for lunch, and they had halloween window stickers and decorations up (Already??). From the backseat Natalie got excited and said "Look Mom! They're getting ready for Easter!!"
Not quite, sweetie :)

Terrible. Just Terrible.

I had my first root canal back at the end of June. I was terrified because I have always heard people talking about how terrible it can be. So I took my iPod and tried to relax. And when it was done, I couldn't believe how easy that was! What in the world had people been complaining about?
Well, yesterday I found out. I went for my temporary crown. It was horrible. THAT has got to be what everyone was complaining about. I wanted to cry.
My dentist office has a little butterfly hanging from the light above. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be relaxing, or distracting, or what. But it does nothing for me. In fact, I will probably feel a sharp pain in my mouth every time I see a butterfly.
Now if only they could hang a peanut butter cup from that light. It sure would help me in my weight loss battle.

What a Cat

Alvie has been on our blog quite a few times before, and I always say what a great cat he is. I'm going to say it again. He loves Mason and puts up with his slobbering and pulling (although I stop that before it really happens). He comes in and just loves on him and lays down while Mason lays his head on him and loves him back!

And yes, I do wash Mason's hands after he's played with the cat (I can think of at least 3 people who are probably wondering that!)

We're still here!

We have been busy getting started with school as well as soccer--both kids are playing! I will go ahead and tell you that it is definitely taking some time getting into a new routine. Two kids to teach and a baby in the mix--hopefully I can get the hang of this!
I'll be back soon with new pictures :)
