I am in a women's Bible study with the mom and this little boy and his twin sister are the sweetest, happiest babies!
this was sent through a member of their church.
As most of you know, eight month old Aiden A** is in Hershey Medical Center. Here is an update on his condition as of early Monday morning:
Aiden has a cancer called neuroblastoma that goes from his esophagus to down around his navel. It is pushing against his esophagus and heart and is wrapping around his spinal column. The doctors have advised treating with chemotherapy, which Larry and Melissa agreed to, these treatments began over the weekend and will continue for 3-4 days. The chemo should reduce the size of the tumor, yet at the same time Aiden's immune system will be quite susceptible to infections, which may be as great a threat as the tumor. The doctors have told Larry and Melissa that Aiden is in stage 4, and the critical piece of information that they are waiting on will come in the next few days...what stage of stage 4. If Aiden is in the early stages this would be better news, and may mean less chemo. If Aiden is in the later stages of stage 4, then it would mean more chemo. The difference I believe is 4 rounds if early stages, 8 rounds if more advanced.
Everyone wants to know what they can do to help the family. Right now, the most important thing we can do is continue to pray. Therefore, we will be holding a prayer vigil at the church on Wednesday, April 2nd from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. in room A35 (the back third of the Lower Fellowship Hall/Youth Room/Archery Room). I also ask that you consider fasting that day before we come before the Lord in prayer. I hope that you will be able to join us to lift this little boy and his family up in prayer. I also ask that you forward this information on to anyone you know who would be interested in praying for the A**'s. Thanks!
“So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting…” Daniel 9:3
“Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20
“Pray continually and never lose heart.” Luke 18:1

I cannot come to the prayer meeting, but I will pray!! I work in a cancer treatment center and I understand exactly what you are talking about and how scary this diagnoses is for this little boy and his family!!! I will be praying!! You can count on it.
